The short story has always been one of my favorite forms of writing. I love the individuality and unique styles short fiction offers its authors.

I found long ago that my passion for writing was strong. As time went on, I discovered that my desire to write long was not part of that passion. The first short story I ever read was “A Catbird Seat” by James Thurber. I was in seventh grade and continued to be fascinated with not only reading more short stories, but writing them as well.

The BellaOnline Short Stories Site newsletter will cover topics like the history and popularity of the short story, titles, authors, and elements. We will also discuss where to find and read short stories. I will post reviews of classic and new stories, as well as discuss in my articles and in our forum — how to write short stories.

I would also like to use this site to connect to other readers and writers. Through this newsletter and our Short Stories Forum, I hope to build a community with you that is both helpful and personal. I am extremely interested in hearing what you have to say. I care about your ideas, hopes, dreams, plans, hobbies, passions and your own writings.
