Maintaining Your Composure

Maintaining Your Composure
Has the dynamics of the pandemic knocked you out of your comfort zone? As if that were not enough, we are faced with social injustice stacked on to all the other issues that we were already facing. Your comfort zone was your safe space. You were comfortable with your life. The schedule was down packed. Everyone in your circle knew the drill. You knew what you were to do and when to do it. With a blink of an eye, it was no longer life as usual. In the mist of it all, you must maintain your composure.

As day after day, and month after month goes by with little sight of what we thought was a normal life, frustration, depression, and anxiety, to name a few, can set in quickly. Notice that I said can and not will. These things can set in if we allow them to. It is imperative that we maintain our composure. Do not panic. Do not let fear set in. Stay steadfast and unmovable.

Praise and prayer are two weapons that can be used to turn the situation around. Remain thankful for what you do have. Never focus on the things that you do not have. As you remain grateful for the little things that you have been blessed with, the door will be opened for the Lord to step in as you go to Him in prayer.

Psalms 37:23-25 NIV tells us as follows:

23The LORD makes firm the steps
of the one who delights in him;
24 though he may stumble, he will not fall,
for the LORD upholds him with his hand.
25 I was young and now I am old,
yet I have never seen the righteous forsaken
or their children begging bread.

When you delight yourself in the Lord, He will lift you up. He will uphold you with His righteous right hand. He orders your steps. Although things may seem almost impossible, just know that He is still God. He will not allow you to fall. He promised that He would never leave you or forsake you. He cannot lie. If He said it, He would do it. He will take care of you and your family.

Maintain your composure in a pandemic, sickness, unemployment, or even in the hands of social injustice. In times of trouble, hold onto God. Hold on to the promises that He has given you. As each month passes, we get closer to victory. When we get to the other side, we will have a testimony to tell the world.

Be Blessed.
